Water, Gas, Sewer & Garbarge Collection (Utilities)
The Finance and Support Services Department provides utility account maintenance and billing services. Utility bills are processed monthly based on flat fees and services consumed as determined by meter readings. Bills are normally mailed between the 10th and 12th each month. As utilities are billed after consumption, utility bills are due upon receipt. A grace period for payment without penalty is provided based on the date indicated on the bill.
To Apply For Town Utility Services
Utility services provided by the Town include: gas, water, sewer, garbage and recycling.
Property Owners can make application for utility services by completing this form or contacting the Town Office at
780.987.8300.
Credit will be granted to renters upon completion of the application for utility services
and consent form
. Renters are required to pay a deposit of $625.00 and provide photo Identification. This deposit can be paid in full or split into 3 payments: $200.00 at time of application and the next two payments of $212.50 will be added to the next two monthly bills. Upon discontinuation of utility services any outstanding amounts due will be applied against the deposit of $625.00 and any remaining balance will be refunded.

Paying Your Utility Bill
(Please note that in order to avoid penalties payments must be received by the Town Office prior to the end of the grace period as indicated on your bill.)
For your convenience the Town of Devon offers five payment options:
1. Pay online or by phone through your bank.
By paying online or through your financial institution, not only will you avoid a trip to your mailbox or the drive to the Town of Devon office, but you will also save the cost of a cheque and a stamp. Most banking institutions have the Town of Devon listed for making payments through the Internet or telephone banking. Payments can be made through the following financial institutions: ATB, BMO, CIBC, Credit Union, HSBC, RBC, Scotia and TD.
Please be sure to use all 13 digits of your account number without the decimal point. Payments are normally received and processed by the Town of Devon within two to three business days.
2. Sign-up for the Town’s Pre-authorized Payment Plan
The amount due on your Town of Devon utility bill will be withdrawn from your bank account on the ‘Current Debit Withdrawal Due Date’. You are welcome to apply for this service at any time. Contact the Town of Devon Utility Customer Service Representatives at 780.987.8300 for more information or by completing the Pre-authorized Payment form.
3. Pay in person at most banks and financial institutions
Payment can be made at the bank through the tellers or ATM.
4. Pay by mail
Mail your payment, to the Town of Devon Utility Department: 1 Columbia Avenue West, Devon, AB T9G 1A1. Be sure to include your bill stub or account number.
5. Pay at the Town of Devon Office
You can make a payment in person at the Town of Devon Office at 1 Columbia Avenue West, by cash, cheque or Interac (please note we do not accept Visa or MasterCard for Utility Payments) between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A night drop box is available at the Town of Devon Office (1 Columbia Avenue West) where you can drop off your payment. Be sure to include your bill stub or account number. (For your own protection please do not deposit cash in the night drop box)
