Welcome to the Town of Devon

April 2010

On behalf of Town Council I offer congratulations to Dorothy Claypool as the winner of the 2010 Pillar of Peace Award and express appreciation to the community for their support of the this International Women’s Day event.

The event has grown in popularity over the past three years, with nominations being submitted from all facets of the community: leadership, volunteerism, ambassadorship, commitment to youth, senior services and fundraising efforts. The keen interest of the community is a reflection of the strong core of dedicated residents that call Devon home.

Town Council is fundamentally driven to focus on residents with a commitment to the community and to both embrace and foster this positive outlook. Our approach begins with a vision that rallies our residents and recognizes individuals for their actions. Out of this vision Devon is exploring introducing a second volunteer recognition initiative for later this year.

All actions individuals undertake have the potential to transform Devon for the better; our residents have shown that even the simplest acts of community involvement have the opportunity to make a profound difference. Stay tuned on this website, the Devon Dispatch and the Community Insider newsletter for updates on the plans the newest volunteer recognition activities.
